The Gang’s All Here!

I love summer time! This last weekend Karilyn (KA) and a few of her friends from DC (and her sister MJ) came out to New York to visit me! We had such a great time! Of course, being in New York there’s over a million things to do, so we had no problem keeping busy! Saturday we started off the day by getting tickets to the Broadway show “Legally Blonde”! It was a MEGA-HIT! After the show MJ and Jake were constantly reminding all of us, how much they enjoyed the show, by quoting the lines and performing for all of us the rest of the day! I’m pretty sure we’ll all being seeing the two of them on Broadway some day!

After Legally Blonde we decided to go back to the apartment, re-group (really to hide from the July heat), and finalize plans for that evening. Alex, one of our friends, suggested that we go over to Brooklyn to a popular pizza joint called “Grimaldi’s”.  The popular pizzeria is located under the Brooklyn Bridge with the Manhattan skyline in the background. AMAZING! Ok, let me give you an idea of what its takes to get a table at this place, picture this, you have to stand in a line located in front of the resterant that extends down the city block.  This line is SO LONG that it makes the lines at Disney Land (in the summer) look short!  I mean seriously, we are talking about getting a piece of pizza people, not a face-to-face meeting with the pope! It was ridiculous but was well worth the wait! The pizza was amazing and the experience priceless! We had a great time and I would recommend if you have a couple of hours, make a trip out of stopping by this place, I promise you won’t regret it!

Wicked

Today Jason and I went to see Wicked! It was a blast! Jason had never been to a “real” Broadway show before (probably the case for most single guys). I’ve seen Wicked a few times before, but have to admit this time around was my favorite! I am pretty sure that I watched Jason more than I did the play just because he was so excited about being there! It’s always fun to go to Broadway in New York with someone who has never been before. If you haven’t had the chance to do it, I highly recommend it!

For those who don’t know, Wicked is a musical that tells the story of the wicked and good witches in the land of OZ. Below is a picture of me doing one of the moves from the play, it’s called the “Toss, Toss”. This is a move that Glinda the Good Witch taught would make you popular. This is me giving the “Toss, Toss” a try, not that I need to be any MORE popular. :D

Hello World!

Welcome to my blog!  So I get asked this question at least twice a day: “Shalauna do you have a blog?”  My answer forever has been a fervent: “No, when would I ever find time to update a blog?”  Well, I have decided that it is time that I find some time! So be sure to come back often to stay tuned into the adventures of my life.
