Wrapping Up Summer!Posted on November 29th, 2009 @ 4:05 am
Wrapping-up the summer is always a hard thing for us to do because it’s our FAVORITE time of year. We love the hot weather, BBQ’s, fireworks, vacations, swimming, flip-flops, lawn chairs, and the list goes on and on! Saying good-bye to summer means we have to do it with a bang! Malcolm and Laura helped us do just that.
No summer is complete without floating down the Provo River, so that’s precisely what we did! All I can say is we had an awesome time. Tube Rental = $10, Floating the River Together = PRICELESS!

They’re making those life jackets look good!

All Set!

This picture was taken before we did the float; notice all the smiles? The only difference that an after shot would have shown would be bigger smiles and darker tans! Thanks guys for an awesome afternoon. We love you!
…and of course in order to officially wrap up summer we had roast marshmallows over one last fire!

Malcolm, Laura, and McKay.
McKay had tons of fun. He spent all night throwing as many rocks as he could into the fire.
Mal and Laura spent all night keeping him from falling in. Good Times!

Word.

So Cute!

Our new favorite kind of marshmallows to roast are the toasted coconut kind. YUM!
Next time you’re roasting marshmallows, you should try them.
Warning: They are WAY better then the plain ones! Prepare yourself for massive consumption.

Hanging out and having fun!

Are you surprised?!

Friends Road Trip 2009!Posted on November 28th, 2009 @ 1:50 pm
At the beginning of September Jason and I went on a road trip with our good friends Mike and Candice. The reason for the road trip? To see Collective Soul! Jason and Mike both love this band. It was honestly a great reason to pack up the car and have an awesome weekend together as friends.
The concert was in Wendover, Nevada just minutes across the Utah boarder. I personally have never been to Wendover, so I was a little skeptical, but I must admit by the end I had been pleasantly surprised.
We checked into our hotel late Friday night. You would think since we were all sharing a room as friends that we would have stayed up all night talking and laughing. Not a chance. I’m pretty sure we were all in bed by mid-night. Oh the obvious signs that we are getting old!
Since the concert wasn’t until Saturday night, we had all day Saturday to play; and that is exactly what we did! We started the day off by going to the hotel buffet (bad idea, always is) then we headed to the pool to relax. Spending time pool-side with the folks up in Wendover was interesting to say the least! After swimming the boys decided that it was time to go to the driving range. In Wendover you can get away whatever what, going to the driving range in your swim suit and no shoes = no problem! Gotta love it!

Ready, Aim…

FIRE!

Lets be honest, I was saying “FORE” a lot this day! Hey, you’ve got to start somewhere!

When I wasn’t shouting” FORE” this is what I was doing. Not surprising.
After our fun day of playing it was off to the concert. The concert was at the PepperMill which was right across the street from our hotel. We bought our tickets off KSL and they were AMAZING! We were about 5 rows back and right in the middle. The concert hall is small and intimate which made for a great night. Thank-You to Mike and Candice for an awesome weekend!

Biking to Bridal Veil Falls!Posted on November 28th, 2009 @ 11:29 am
These pictures are from the end of August when best friend Karylin (KA) came into town from Washington DC on a business trip. She works for Congressman Jason Chaffetz and lives in DC, however she grew up in Utah and we love when she comes home to visit! During her stay we were able to get together with our good friends Joe and Jamie for a bike ride up to Bridal Veil Falls.
Our night together was so fun! We met up at a park about 3 miles down from the falls and had a picnic, chatted, and got caught up on life. Its always so fun to get together, we can honestly talk all night long. Good times! Once we were done with our picnic it was back to the cars to get our bikes. After getting all the bikes off the racks Joe notice that his bike had a flat tire. Bummer! He pumped it up and within minutes it was flat again. Joe being such a good sport decided that he would run beside everyone instead of riding since his bike wasn’t working. Because we chatted for so long and and had a few technical difficulties with the bikes, we ended up getting to the falls at dusk which make it hard to take pictures with the water in the back round. Just know that there was a huge waterfall just behind us!

Me and KA on the ride up!

Joe, Jamie, and Carson at the Falls! Carson is saying “cheese”!

What Bridal Veil Falls looks like in the day.

Me and Jas…half way there.

KA, Me, Joe, and Jamie. Love you guys!
Big Thank You to KA for planning such a fun night! We miss you already!
